The Not So Subtle Dumbing Down Of America
Movies, Cable, T.V. Radio, all seem to have one thing in common today..They all think that the majority of their audience are morons. You can have 260 channels of cable and be unable to find one worthwhile show or movie.
However, shows that feature "cretins from planets unknown to most humans" proliferate on daytime t.v.
They come to humiliate themselves and their "loved ones' by admitting openly to stealing, lying, cheating,
cross dressing, committing heinous crimes, etc. These shows keep on keeping on! Taking your family or yourself to supposed 4 star movies like Spider Man, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, are visual treats but you come away feeling empty as there is no emotional catharsis. Where are the great movies of yesteryear like "On the Waterfront", The Godfather, etc. Technology has replaced emotion! Our news shows are so slanted either liberal or conservative that they really are no more than unpaid for ads for whatever party or platform they are pushing.
There are ways around the moral and spiritual malaise we seem to be encountering. Read a good book, and enrich your mind. Take a walk in the park and appreciate the beauty of nature! Love your family and friends
and encourage open discussion with them. Devote quality time to those less fortunate! Why waste your time on intellectually deficient fodder when you can create your own menu and learn about the inner you!
